City of Eau Claire issued the following announcement on May 28.
Thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club of Eau Claire, there are now five new custom game tables for people to enjoy in Eau Claire Parks.
The round tables provide seating for four and feature a checkerboard design in the center and can be used for chess or checkers. Three tables have been placed at McDonough Park in the Active Aging Area and the other two be at Fairfax Pool. The addition of these game tables provides yet another way that residents and visitors alike can use and enjoy Eau Claire’s parks.
“I know the parks will be enhanced by this donation, our goal is to promote healthy living by providing activities for all ages within our park system. These tables in both locations will provide a place to rest and an opportunity to socialize and participate in a game of checkers.” Says Steve Plaza, Parks, Forestry, Cemetery, Building & Grounds Maintenance Manager.
The Rotary Club of Eau Claire supports many community projects including the bridge lighting project for Phoenix Park.
