The Beloit Historical Society is set to reopen on Sept. 10 with a slew of events and competitions to celebrate the occasion.
State Rep. Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit) extended an invitation to residents earlier this month.
“Beloiters, we are just one week away from Beloit Heritage days,” Spreitzer tweeted on Sept. 4. “Get excited and reminisce on your family history by picking your favorite family recipe to submit to the Beloit Historical Society’s baking competition next weekend.”
The BHS’s website announced that its grand reopening is to celebrate the renovations and new exhibits on the Veterans Hall and local baseball history.
A ceremony will be held at the BHS offices located at 845 Hackett St. in Beloit at 9 a.m.
In keeping with COVID-19 protocols, the BHS will livestream the event via Facebook.
BHS’s Heritage Days will be held Sept. 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, the nonprofit’s website announced.
The weekend will culminate with a baking competition on Sept. 11 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
