U.S. Rep. Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) expressed satisfaction toward one of La Crosse’s health centers being allocated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding.
The La Crosse Tribune reported that $580,000 in ARPA money has been earmarked for the Scenic Bluffs Health Center by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“Glad to see the #AmericanRescuePlan funding headed to @ScienceBluffs,” Kind, who represents Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District and is a member of the Subcommittee on Health for the Ways and Means Committee and co-chair of the House Rural Health Care Coalition, tweeted. “Community health centers play a key role in keeping Wisconsinites safe and healthy, especially during the pandemic. I’m proud to have helped secure these funds to support their efforts.”
The funding is part of the $1 billion that was distributed to almost 1,300 health centers nationwide, with Wisconsin’s share totaling about $350 million.
Scenic Bluffs is a nonprofit community health center serving Western Wisconsin.
According to the facility’s website, it accepts most private insurance and welcomes those without insurance, offering a wide range of treatments and therapies.
