"I decided to stay a fifth year because I knew this group was special, and I knew that this team was going to be good," Kendra Baier said in an interview.
On Nov. 22, UW-Eau Claire defeated Calvin College.
Coach Wudi said this win comes at the end of a historically successful season, with eight of the team's stars set to graduate this coming spring. "When you have a lot of people in pursuit of a similar goal it really is like a family," Wudi said. "There is so much love and so much support for each other – both on and off the court. We're there for each other through thick and thin. There's been a lot of adversity over the last couple of years and for us to get through that together was amazing."
Sheridan Dettmann was one of the players that helped lead the team to victory, ending with 290 digs this season.
