Chippewa Falls/Menomonie finally beat Eau Claire on Dec. 16, ending their winless streak.
"Paige Steinmetz and Emma-Lyn Stephenson scored goals as the Chippewa Falls/Menomonie girls hockey team snapped a 15-game winless streak against Eau Claire Area with a 2-1 win Thursday evening in Eau Claire," Brandon Berg tweeted.
The joint Chippewa Falls and Menomonie girls hockey team finally ended their losing streak against the Eau Claire Area Stars. The 2-1 win ended a 14-game losing streak.
“We had a lot of success last year,” head coach Tony Menard said. "But this is something this locker room has that no other team has had in the last seven years.”
It was also CFM's first conference win, bringing their conference record to 1-2 this season.
Steinmetz, a sophomore, scored the first goal for CFM, her second of the season, after earning 24 points last season.
“Paige is a great athlete and she has been in big moments in big games so far in her young career,” Menard said. “And you’re starting to see her get comfortable on the ice and starting to feel very confident with the puck on her stick.”
