The YMCA Sports Center in Eau Claire recently held its first annual Kids Expo since COVID-19 made it impossible to host.
According to WEAU 13 News, the Expo was held April 3 at the L.E. Phillips Sports Center and boasted inflatables, gymnastics area, face painting, martial arts opportunities, as well as a DJ all for the kids to try and expend some energy.
The expo also had vendor booths placed around the event for kids and families to check out and explore all the opportunities that the YMCA and the community has to offer in terms of health and wellness activities.
“Then we also have a gymnastic space, so let the kids run and explore and just kind of expend some energy,” Sports center facility director Amy Peterson-Foss told WEAU 13 News. “And then we also have vendor booths over on the court so you can walk around kind of see what our community has to offer.”
The Chippewa Valley YMCA has weekly ongoing events for families just like the Kids Expo. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings are family fun zones, with similar activities for kids to run around, socialize and explore.
The YMCA also has family fun nights on Friday nights from 5 to 9 p.m. which includes activities for older kids and entire families like movies and hayrides.
