FOIA Request to City of Prescott Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As a team at WC Wisconsin News, we have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the City of Prescott. The request was made for records of new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024.
Our role as a media organization is to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. Access to public records such as these is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We await the response from the City of Prescott regarding this request and will keep our readers updated with any developments.
