FOIA Request to City of Alma Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
WC Wisconsin News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As part of our commitment to transparency and public accountability, we believe that access to these records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await the response from the City of Alma regarding this request and will continue our efforts in ensuring transparent reporting on local governmental affairs.
