FOIA Request to Town of Byron Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at WC Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization, we believe in the importance of transparency and accountability in public institutions. We strive to keep the public informed about significant events and developments within their community.
The information requested will shed light on the number of same-day registrations during this year's election cycle. Same-day voter registration allows eligible citizens to register and vote at the same time, a process that can significantly increase voter turnout and engagement.
We have requested this information preferably in electronic format for ease of analysis and dissemination. As part of our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also asked for a fee waiver as a media professional.
