FOIA Request to Village of Wilton Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As a dedicated media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at WC Wisconsin News have sent an official request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Village of Wilton. The request was sent on November 7, 2024, seeking access to public records pertaining to new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024.
The aim of this request is to ensure transparency in the electoral process and hold public institutions accountable. Access to such public records is vital for us at WC Wisconsin News as it enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include providing the public with accurate information about their local government.
We believe that as a media organization actively involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. We eagerly await a positive response from the Village of Wilton and will continue our pursuit of transparency and accountability in local governance.
