Three Eau Claire A’s 13U players won World Series awards. | Facebook
Two of the teams deriving from the Eau Claire Babe Ruth Baseball Program have seen significant success this season, including highlighted tournament team players Tyler Barrows, defensive catcher of the tournament Austin McGraw and third baseman of the tournament Blake Bugher.
“Congratulations to these three Eau Claire A’s 13U players who won World Series awards,” John Bugher posted on Facebook.
The two teams, 13U and 14U, advanced to the semifinal rounds in their respective world series. Both teams took third place in their leagues on the national stage. Team 13U contributed to the New York semifinals, while Team 14U played in the semifinals in Iowa.
While the 14U team lost to Southeast by four points, the 13U team came close to 8 -7 during the eight innings in Jamestown, New York. Eau Claire wrapped the week off with a 3-2 record, WEAU reports.
Following a lack of hits on 14U’s behalf, the team fell close behind to the Bridgewater Panthers in a 4-3 game. Team 13U has upgraded to 2-0 after winning 17-4 against the Pacific Southwest.
