On Nov. 6, the 12th-ranked UW La Crosse Eagles football team played a difficult game against third-ranked UW Whitewater Eagles, losing 13-7.
Though La Crosse trailed 13-0 with less than 12 minutes to go, QB Jakob Parks got the team moments away from coming out on top, but an incomplete pass caused La Crosse to just come up short and prevented a win, La Crosse Tribune reported.
"We had an opportunity, and I didn’t get it done," Parks said, according to La Crosse Tribune. "Quarterback gets praise, quarterback gets the blame. So it’s on me. There’s a lot I could have done differently to get us the win."
Despite the rough loss, junior running back Joey Stutzman was able to celebrate a career milestone of passing 1,000 rushing yards this season.
"Congrats to @JoeyJStutz for eclipsing 1,000 rushing yards this season," UW-La Crosse Football wrote in a Nov. 6 Twitter post.
Stutzman gave credit to the La Crosse offensive line and tweeted, "Congrats to our offensive line, those guys are some bad dudes and they deserve it."
La Crosse will next return to action on Saturday, Nov. 13 when they host a game against UW-Eau Claire.
