On Nov. 30, Democratic Rep. Ron Kind took to social media to encourage Wisconsinites to get vaccinated.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Wisconsinites have received a total of over 7.7 million vaccine doses, including over 1 million booster shots.

Kind tweeted, “Whether it’s your booster dose or your first shot, I encourage all Wisconsinites to get vaccinated against COVID-19. To find a location near you:

Visit vaccines.gov

Text your ZIP code to 438829

Call 1-800-232-0233”

La Crosse County residents can get their vaccine from the County Health Department, Walgreens, Wal-mart and other locations which can be found using vaccinefinder.org.

Kind has been a representative for Wisconsin since 1996. In navigating the uniquely challenging COVID-19 crisis, he has focused on personal outreach. He shared on his social media profiles when he received both of his vaccine shots and his booster, along with stats and information from reputable sources like the DHS.

The DHS website states, “COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, free and widely available. Everyone ages five and up are now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination, and you do not need an ID or insurance to get it. The COVID-19 vaccines are the best way to protect yourself, your family and your community from COVID-19.”

Over 57% of Eua Claire County residents are fully vaccinated, and almost 36% of Clark County residents have gotten one dose of the vaccine. Almost 46% of Jackson County residents and over 61% of La Crosse County residents are fully vaccinated.
