The University of La Crosse Women’s Gymnastics team is celebrating team members Emma Grant and Kerrie Legault after both were tabbed for All-American recognition.

According to the school’s website, Grant earned 2021-22 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) All-American honors on the balance beam, while Legault is being feted for her work on the uneven parallel bars.

“Yeah, Emma and Kerrie,” the school posted on Facebook. “Our regular-season All-Americans. So difficult to do - Go Eagles!”

The awards are given based on a seasonal average of the top four scores throughout the season, with the top two scorers in each conference for each event receive All-American honors. In the end, Grant posted an average score of 9.659 on the balance beam and Legault wrapped up the season with an average score of 9.642 on the uneven parallel bars.

In all, Grant won titles at five events this season, including the WIAC Championships/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional with a score of 9.750 and the UWL Triangular with a score of 9.675, according to the school's website. She also placed second against Lindendwood University (Mo.) with a season-high 9.800.

Legault bagged titles on the uneven parallel bars versus against UW-Stout (9.650), UW-Eau Claire (9.525) and in the UWL Triangular (9.675). She also captured the uneven parallel bars title (season-high 9.800) at the 2022 NCGA Championships with a season-high score of 9.800.

The honor marks the third for Grant and second for Legault.

As a team, UWL finished third at the 2022 NCGA Championships, posting season-highs in overall (192.575), vault (48.400) and floor exercise (48.300).

The team’s 192.575 overall score ranks as the fourth-highest in school history and the vault total of 48.400 is the second-highest.
