WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) announced his Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for Wisconsin’s Third District. CPFs allow Members of Congress to allocate federal funds to projects within their districts that directly impact the community.
“There is a lot of bureaucratic red tape in Washington, but Community Project Funding is something Congress does right,” said Congressman Van Orden. “Rural districts, like the one I represent, oftentimes have many critical issues to resolve, but they simply do not have the local funding to get it done. That is why, after many discussions with community stakeholders, I am proud to submit these CPF requests on behalf of the Third District. I look forward to continue advocating for these important projects and getting dollars back to the people of Wisconsin’s Third.”
The FY25 CPF requests made by Rep. Van Orden include:
- The Boscobel and Rural Fire Department for an up-to-date Fire/EMS station.
- The Cashton Fire Department for a replacement fire station/emergency services facility.
- The Chippewa County Mortuary to reduce financial burdens on the county and law enforcement agencies.
- The City of Altoona for a new municipal water distribution system.
- The City of La Crosse Police Department for enhanced security at a large Xcel Energy substation.
- The City of River Falls for upgraded radio systems used by first responders.
- The City of Viroqua for improved drinking water quality through new water, sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure.
- The City of Cuba City to replace aging water and sewer infrastructure under STH 80 alongside WDOT roadway replacement.
- The Family Health Center of Marshfield for comprehensive healthcare services establishment.
- The Genoa Harmony Fire Department for a new fire engine.
- The Monroe County CTH ET Multimodal & Freight Corridor to address safety concerns and enhance access to various interests including agriculture and military facilities.
- The Prairie du Chien Wastewater Treatment Facility for plant upgrades.
- The Township of Mount Ida for road improvements.
- The Village of West Salem Public Safety Building for training, storage, meeting space, office use, vehicle maintenance, evidence processing, and community space needs.
- The Village of Viola for constructing a well on the south side of the Kickapoo River.
In FY24, Congressman Van Orden secured over $26 million in CPFs for Wisconsin’s Third District. Guidelines established in the 116th Congress dictate caps on project submissions and require each project to have a federal nexus aimed at restoring integrity in appropriations following years of wasteful spending.
