On July 24, 2024, Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) issued a statement following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress.

“This afternoon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu showed the world what it looks like to truly lead your country and people. Despite Vice President Kamala Harris’ refusal to attend, which is the most blatant demonstration of a lack of concern for the Americans being held by terrorists in living memory, Prime Minister Netanyahu delivered an address to Congress that displayed strength and courage during the most devastating time for the Jewish people since the Holocaust," Van Orden stated.

He further emphasized the importance of supporting Israel against terrorist organizations. “The United States and the rest of the free world must support our ally Israel against barbaric, terrorist organizations like Hamas, Hezbollah, Ansar Allah, and other Iranian regime proxies. I unequivocally stand with Israel and the Jewish people and will continue to push this administration to do everything they can to provide support to our strongest ally in the Middle East as they fight against antisemitism and genocide and continue working to rescue our Americans being held hostage by Hamas."
