Rep. Derrick Van Orden, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin's 3rd district since 2023, recently shared a series of statements via social media regarding national infrastructure, agricultural policy, and security concerns.
On November 19, 2024, Rep. Van Orden expressed his support for Sean Duffy's appointment at the Department of Transportation. He stated: "A fantastic selection! @SeanDuffyWI will bring the level of leadership needed at DoT to execute President Trump’s vision for rebuilding our bridges, highways, waterways, and I look forward to working with him to make our nation's infrastructure strong again."
In a post dated November 20, 2024, he criticized Secretary Vilsack and the Biden administration for their perceived neglect of small- and medium-sized farmers. Van Orden remarked: "By refusing to answer Rep. Van Orden's letter, Sec. Vilsack is making it clear the Biden administration doesn't see our small- and medium-sized farmers as a priority. They are the backbone of America. This is inexcusable."
Later that same day, he raised concerns about the operations of Tren de Aragua within U.S. states including Wisconsin. He commented on an incident involving violence near his home in Prairie du Chien: "Tren de Aragua is operating in 16 states including Wisconsin. A TdA member violently assaulted a mom and daughter just miles from Rep. Van Orden's home in Prairie du Chien earlier this year. The Biden administration not only ignored the border crisis — they created it."
