In a statement, he attributed the Iranian regime with causing numerous American deaths and criticized previous U.S. administrations for their handling of Iran.
Van Orden stated, "The Iranian regime is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans and was enabled by the weak leadership under the Obama and Biden administrations." He emphasized Iran's status as a significant sponsor of terrorism and highlighted concerns about its nuclear ambitions. "They are the world’s greatest state sponsor of terrorism, and allowing the regime to inch closer to developing nuclear weapons was a foolish proposition. Iran must never possess a nuclear weapon," he declared.
The congressman expressed his support for Israel's military actions against Iranian targets, framing them as essential for protecting sovereignty and mutual security interests. "I fully support Israel’s strikes against Iranian military targets as a necessary defense of their sovereignty and a decisive stand for our shared national security interests," Van Orden concluded.
