Representative Karen Hurd, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Wisconsin's 69th House district, has recently addressed legislative efforts and concerns about veteran homelessness through her social media posts.
On September 11, 2025, Hurd expressed gratitude for advocacy groups supporting new legislation. She stated, "Thank you to @RAINN and the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault for your support of this important legislation. I look forward to this bill continuing to advance through the legislative process in the coming weeks."
The following day, Hurd drew attention to planned closures affecting homeless veterans. On September 12, she posted, "You may have heard about the planned closure of Klein Hall in Chippewa Falls which houses a program for homeless veterans. There is also a similar facility in the Green Bay area slated to close." In a subsequent post on the same date, she commented on responsibility for these closures: "While Governor Evers and his administration have attempted to pass off blame on the Legislature, the fact is that they already have the funding at their disposal to keep these shelters open."
Karen Hurd began serving as state representative after winning election in 2025, succeeding Donna Rozar as the representative for Wisconsin's 69th House district.
