There were 2,920 students enrolled in Onalaska School District in the 2024-25 school year, 1.7% less than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 50.2% identified themselves as boys, 49.5% as girls, and 0.3% identified themselves as non-binary or did not specify their gender.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 68.4% of the Onalaska School District total enrollment.

Onalaska School District covers six schools within La Crosse County, with its main office in Onalaska.

Among the six schools in the district, Onalaska High School recorded the highest enrollment of 925 students in the 2024-25 school year.

Wisconsin ranks 22nd in the U.S. for public education spending, with an annual expenditure of over $16,500 per pupil, totaling $13.8 billion per year.
