Eight red silhouettes have been placed at a downtown Eau Claire intersection in order to promote awareness of Wisconsin's Marsy's Law, according to a report by WEAU 13 News.

Marsy's Law is designed to protect and extend victims' rights throughout the criminal justice system. It was enacted in Wisconsin in 2020, replacing the original 1993 law.

“When it came to telling people about Marsy's Law, silhouettes seemed to be an appropriate symbol to remind people that victims are amongst them,” Bronson Stein, a Bolton Refuge House legal advocate told WEAU 13 news.

Stein created the eight silhouettes, which range in shape and size in order to represent various ages. He also saod he chose the color red because it "represents victims" and has a better chance of catching people's attention.

According to Wispolitics, the display was the result of a collaboration between Marsy's Law for Wisconsin and the Bolton Refuge House.

The Bolton Refuge House in Eau Claire provides assistance for victims of domestic abuse 24 hours a day, 365 days a year as well as other types of support and services outside of their physical shelter, according to the organization's website.
