LA CROSSE, WI – In case you missed it, yesterday Rep. Derrick Van Orden (WI-3) hosted a Farm Bill Listening Session in La Crosse alongside House Agriculture Committee Chairman GT Thompson and Senator Ron Johnson.
While Van Orden was unable to participate in the session in-person due to his daughter’s battle with cancer, he joined the session virtually. Nearly 300 farmers and agriculture leaders from Wisconsin and across the Midwest shared their comments and asked questions about the upcoming Farm Bill. Topics included crop insurance, input costs, labor, and the impact of government regulation.
Van Orden is the first Wisconsinite in the House of Representatives to serve on the Agriculture Committee in nearly a decade, where he has introduced legislation like the Dairy Business Innovation Act and DAIRY PRIDE Act.
