Which Pepin County district had biggest enrollment in 2022-23 school year

Durand-Arkansaw School District had the highest enrollment among Pepin County districts, welcoming 999 students during the 2022-23 academic year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.9% of them were boys, and 47.1% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 93.2% of the Durand-Arkansaw School District's total enrollment.

Among the two districts in Pepin County, Pepin Area School District ranked second in enrollment numbers with 234 students.

Durand-Arkansaw School District roughly covers schools within Pepin County, with its main office in Durand.

In the previous school year, Durand-Arkansaw School District also had the highest number of students among Pepin County districts.

Nearly 830,000 students were enrolled in Wisconsin schools in the 2021-22 school year. This is a 0.85% decrease from the year before. In sharp contrast to declining public school figures, enrollment in charter schools rose 4.5% to more than 52,000.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 14 students in a Wisconsin classroom, compared to the national average of 1:16. AAA State of Play considered Wisconsin to have the 14th best teacher to student ratio in the U.S.
