2021 has 3.1% of Pierce County residents unemployed

Pierce County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 745 people out of the 42,204 living in Pierce County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Pierce County has remained fairly stable compared to the 3.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Pierce County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 3.5%.

Of the 23,370 people who had a job during that time, 45 were employed in the Armed Forces and 23,325 belonged to the civilian labor force.
