Enrollment at Durand-Arkansaw School District decreased by 0.4% compared to previous school year

There were 999 students enrolled in Durand-Arkansaw School District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.4% less than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.8% of them were boys, and 47.2% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 91.8% of the Durand-Arkansaw School District total enrollment.

Durand-Arkansaw School District covers two schools within Pepin County, with its main office in Durand.

Among the two schools in the Durand-Arkansaw School District, Durand Middle/High School recorded the highest enrollment of 521 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Nearly 830,000 students were enrolled in Wisconsin schools in the 2021-22 school year. This is a 0.85% decrease from the year before. In sharp contrast to declining public school figures, enrollment in charter schools rose 4.5% to more than 52,000.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 14 students in a Wisconsin classroom, compared to the national average of 1:16. AAA State of Play considered Wisconsin to have the 14th best teacher to student ratio in the U.S.
