WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) issued a statement following the International Criminal Court's (ICC) announcement requesting arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
"Hamas’ unprovoked attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, was a 21st-century Holocaust, and Israel has every right to defend itself from these savages. The ICC’s call for arrest warrants on Israeli officials is baseless and conflates a recognized terrorist organization with a sovereign nation protecting its people. The ICC has no jurisdiction over Israel, and they should retract their request for these arrest warrants immediately. I continue to stand strongly with Israel and the Jewish people as they rightfully work to eradicate Hamas."
