Ryan Huebsch, the Republican nominee for Wisconsin State Assembly District 94, is seeking election to a two-year term. He will be on the November 5 ballot.
"Most of our elected leaders are at or well past retirement age," Huebsch said in a campaign announcement on April 25. "This election marks the 40th year since Steve Doyle first started running for office in 1984. Our current representative has been in politics since before many of us were born, and it is hard to say things have gotten better while he has been there. It is time for the next generation to accept the challenge to step up and lead.”
According to his campaign website, Huebsch's political background includes three years as a legislative aide to State Sens. Scott Fitzgerald and Eric Wimberger. He also managed the campaign of former State Sen. Dan Kapanke in 2020. Huebsch's father Mike represented Assembly District 94 for 16 years.
Huebsch's platform is focused on a number of issues, one being the economy. Huebsch has promised to promote and support policies that lower the tax burden and foster job growth and community enhancement, including supporting small businesses.
Huebsch also believes in expanding school choice in order to give more children better access to quality education. He has pledged to support legislation that will empower parents to be involved in their children's education by giving them access to and a voice in school curricula as well as oversight into how school funds are used.
As the Lacrosse Tribune reported, Huebsch is running for the State Assembly seat against incumbent Democrat Steve Doyle. Huebsch previously faced off against Doyle in 2022 in a tight race, where he was defeated by a narrow 2.6% margin.
