FOIA Request to Town of Belvidere Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at WC Wisconsin News have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Belvidere. The request, dated November 7, 2024, specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
We believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we consider ourselves eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
