FOIA Request to Town of Dexter Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at WC Wisconsin News have formally requested records from the Town of Dexter under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., specifically seeking a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
In our request, we emphasized our role in gathering and reporting news to the public and expressed our belief that we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional due to our role in disseminating information.
