FOIA Request to Town of Trempealeau Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
At WC Wisconsin News, we have sent a formal request to the Town of Trempealeau under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for access to records pertaining to new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024.
Our commitment as a media organization is to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. In line with this commitment, we believe that access to public records is crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
In our request, we have asked for these records preferably in an electronic format. We have also expressed our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional given our role in disseminating information.
We are awaiting a response from the Town of Trempealeau and will continue to keep our readers updated on any developments regarding this request.
