A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village of Norwalk regarding new voter registrations on November 7, 2024.
The request, made by WC Wisconsin News, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, seeks access to public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. Specifically, WC Wisconsin News is requesting a list of voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As part of our commitment to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we at WC Wisconsin News believe that access to such records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
