Tomah Health has contributed $5,077.50 to Tomah Area Cancer Support Inc. (TACS) through its Annual Jeans & Scrubs for Charity program. The donation was presented by Samantha Wolff, a Human Resources Generalist at Tomah Health, to Dawn Pfaff, President of TACS.

The funds will aid TACS in providing monetary support to local cancer patients. "Donations received such as the one today truly are wonderful as we can offer assistance to patients who are going through such a difficult time in our area," said Pfaff. She noted that the organization receives about 35 requests for support each month.

TACS uses donations and proceeds from aluminum can collections to assist with transportation for cancer treatments via gas cards, cover medically related expenses, provide lodging for patients, and address other necessary costs. According to Pfaff, gas gift cards are the most frequent request from patients needing to travel for appointments either at Tomah Health or other facilities.

Wolff explained that hospital staff participate in the charity program by donating a small amount in exchange for wearing jeans or scrubs on Fridays throughout the year. "Our staff’s generosity in donating their jeans day funds to this local charity is a testament to the power of community and compassion," she stated.

In 2024, hospital staff voted to support TACS with their donations. For 2025, funds from the Jeans & Scrubs program will be shared between St. Clare Health Mission of Monroe County and the local Lend a Hand Program.
