Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin's Third District commented on the Wisconsin Supreme Court's decision to reject arguments for redrawing the state's congressional district lines.
In his statement, Van Orden remarked, “Today’s decision by the Wisconsin Supreme Court is a victory for the rule of law, election integrity, and the Constitution." He noted that the current district lines were drawn by Governor Evers and had been previously affirmed by both the state and U.S. Supreme Courts.
Van Orden criticized efforts to alter these maps, stating, "The Democrats’ repeated attempts to redraw the congressional maps were solely because they did not like the results of free and fair elections."
He expressed gratitude towards the state Supreme Court for maintaining impartiality in their ruling. "I am grateful to the state Supreme Court for being impartial in their decision and not caving to partisan politics," he said. Concluding his statement, Van Orden affirmed his commitment to serving Wisconsin’s Third District.
