Dr. Zak Pearson New business dean | Western Technical College

Western Technical College has announced the appointment of Dr. Zak Pearson as the new dean of its Business Division. The announcement was made on Thursday.

Dr. Pearson, a Navy veteran, brings over ten years of industry experience from companies such as Boeing, Target, and the Government of Quebec. For the past nine years, he has worked in China within various educational institutions, teaching Business Studies, Accounting, Marketing, and Economics at both K12 and higher education levels.

Rebecca Hopkins, Western's Vice President of Learning stated, “Zak brings a diverse mix of education, industry, and teaching experience to Western. Those experiences will help us move our student success initiatives in new and exciting ways. We look forward to having him join our team at Western.”

Dr. Pearson expressed his enthusiasm for his new role by saying: "After a rewarding and transformative chapter leading and working at international education programs abroad, I’m excited to bring my global experiences and passion for education back home, to a team that values innovation and collaboration." He added that he believes they can create an inspiring environment for students preparing them for success in business.

Dr. Pearson holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business with a minor in Management. He also completed his Masters in Business Administration in Marketing and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration. Additionally, he possesses a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University. He will commence his duties at Western on September 12.
