Rep. Derrick Van Orden, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Wisconsin’s 3rd district since 2023, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various topics of concern and interest to his constituents. Van Orden, who succeeded Ron Kind in Congress, has expressed empathy for those affected by a recent tragedy in Texas, support for the agricultural sector, and opportunities for Wisconsin farmers.

On July 7, 2025, Rep. Van Orden conveyed his condolences following a tragic event in Texas. He stated, "Our hearts are with the victims of this absolutely heartbreaking tragedy in Texas." He extended thoughts and prayers to the families affected, those unaccounted for, and acknowledged the efforts of first responders and volunteers engaged in rescue operations.

In a tweet dated July 8, 2025, Van Orden highlighted the importance of supporting farmers. He emphasized that "Our farmers feed and clothe the world, and they must have the tools they need to succeed." He mentioned "The One, Big, Beautiful PROTECTS," an initiative aimed at benefiting farmers within Wisconsin's 3rd District as well as nationwide.

On July 9, 2025, Van Orden praised Wisconsin's agricultural products while promoting an opportunity for local farmers to showcase their work in Washington D.C. He remarked that "Wisconsin has the best products in the world," encouraging participation from WI-03 farmers by providing registration guidelines through a shared link.

Derrick Van Orden was born in Minnesota in 1969 and resides in Prairie du Chien. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior University and a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
