Representative Karen Hurd, a Republican who began serving Wisconsin's 69th House district in 2025, recently shared updates on her activities and legislative priorities through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On August 23, Hurd recounted her experience at a local event: "I enjoyed attending the Athens Fair last Saturday. I had the pleasure of meeting Lila Giese. She is in 8th grade and is a member of the Athens FFA Chapter. I also enjoyed speaking with Dwight and Diane Tolk. Dwight is one of the Directors of the Marathon County Farm Bureau."
Turning to education, Hurd highlighted recent state investments as students returned to school across her district. On August 25, she wrote: "With students and teachers across the 69th District heading back to school, it's a great time to highlight the investments the Legislature made in K-12 education in the recently enacted state budget." In a follow-up post that same day, she detailed specific funding measures: "The largest investment in special education in state history $30 million in additional funding for school-based mental health services $37.1 million to continue key literacy initiatives You can learn more in my latest e-update here https://t.co/BkH5lBjD7U"
