Details:

WHEN: Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 5:00pm.

WHO: La Crosse Community Families

WHAT: Unity Walk and non-perishable food drive

WHERE: Participants should gather in the Radisson Hotel parking lot, off of 2nd St., at 4:30pm.  Those participating will walk through the display when it opens at 5:00 pm.

The lights are bright at Riverside Park with more than 1 million bulbs illuminating the night sky, yet for many families it is dark and they will rely heavily on food donations collected and distributed this year.

Chauncy Turner, Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission and Jonathan D. Maye-Cates, Human Rights Commission member have joined together to coordinate a Unity Walk through the well-known Rotary Lights, La Crosse.

Families are encouraged to participate in this peaceful and organized walk, while passing along the tradition of giving to those in need.

Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate at the entrance of the light display.

Signs are encouraged with a theme of “One Community, One City” and “Unity in La Crosse”.

All donations are taken at the entrance to the display by local Rotary Members and Volunteers.  Donations will be used to serve those most in need in our community.

This event is outside, but social distancing and appropriate face coverings are encouraged.

Although both are members of the Human Rights Commission, this is not a Commission sponsored event.
