Rep. Ron Kind sent out a tweet celebrating the over 400 veteran-owned businesses across Wisconsin.
“This National Veterans Small Business Week, please join me in recognizing all our veterans who continue to make our nation a better place by creating economic opportunities here at home," the tweet stated.
The recognition was given in response to the U.S. Small Business Administration declaring the first week of November National Veterans Small Business Week, SBA reports.
“The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) celebrates, connects and empowers aspiring and current service members, veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouse entrepreneurs during National Veterans Small Business Week,” the site states.
The agency will dedicate the week to offering free, virtual workshops intended to help strengthen veterans’ business skills. The topics set to be covered during the sessions include “How to do Business with the Federal Government,” “Access to Capital for Veterans” and “Overcoming Career Setbacks – Soft Skills to Enhance Your Small Business.”
In addition to the workshops, the establishment created a list for Wisconsinites who want to support veteran-owned small businesses. They now have over 400 options to choose from.
