September has proved to be a time of celebration in Eau Claire with a number of big events across the area.
On Sept. 10, the city celebrated its annual fall festival downtown. The event promoted the community’s way of moving from summer to fall along the downtown area through a large public event. Over the years, the event has become a staple and is always held on the second Saturday of September.
“It’s nice to support local businesses and it’s nice to get out and about and see the public being cute and interacting with each other and having a nice time,” local resident Sarah Parson told WEAU.com.
With all ages welcome to attend, this year’s celebration featured about 90 vendors selling food, drinks, and goods from shops. Program planners have long prided themselves on having a wide range of vendors, including street food operators, jewelry makers and nonprofit organizations.
For the first time in more than two years, locals were also able to enjoy their first Comic Con this month after seeing the last two canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was held at the Eau Claire County Convention Center.
