Ryan Huebsch, a candidate for the District 94 seat on the Wisconsin State Assembly, was named a Champion for Clean Energy by the Conservatives for a Clean Energy Future (CCEF).

Huebsch was designated as a 2024 Champion for Clean Energy by an August 12 press release from CCEF. This title is awarded to individuals who "have shown exceptional leadership in promoting policies that not only address energy production and consumption challenges but also ensure economic growth and national security. These champions are pivotal to shaping a policy environment conducive to innovation and responsible environmental stewardship."

According to their website, the CCEF "works with policymakers and stakeholders across the nation to promote policies that secure affordable, reliable, and increasingly efficient and clean energy." The CCEF advocates for "commonsense, market-driven energy policies" that will help to create jobs and lower energy costs for consumers.

Huebsch currently serves as Executive Director of the Wisconsin Conservative Energy Forum (WICEF), "a vehicle for individuals, organizations, and businesses to join the conservative conversation about Wisconsin’s energy future."

WICEF encourages conservatives to participate in the energy debate and approaching sound energy policy through a conservative framework. The organization advocates for clean energy both as a means of energy independence — domestic energy production as opposed to reliance on foreign oil — and improving and protecting the energy grid, as well as benefiting the state's economy through energy production and job creation.

"Conserving our natural resources, and decreasing energy waste through energy efficient technologies is conservative," WICEF writes in their commitment statement. "Utilizing energy sources like bio-digesters and agriculture/solar farm hybrids that preserve farmland, increase crop yields, and help lower energy costs for America’s Dairyland are just commonsense."

As the Lacrosse Tribune reported, Huebsch is running for the State Assembly seat against incumbent Democrat Steve Doyle. Huebsch previously faced off against Doyle in 2022 in a tight race, where he was defeated by a narrow 2.6% margin.
