Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden from Wisconsin's 3rd District expressed his stance on the recently passed Continuing Resolution that ensures government funding through September. Van Orden stated, "Today’s Continuing Resolution not only prevents a government shutdown but also reaffirms our commitment to the values and priorities the American people sent us here to accomplish."

He criticized the 212 Democrats who opposed the bill, assuring that all Americans lawfully entitled to benefits such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or VA benefits would continue to receive them.

Van Orden emphasized that the Republican-controlled House fulfilled its responsibility by passing the bill. He warned of potential consequences if Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer fails to secure votes in favor of keeping the government operational. "Make no mistake – if Chuck Schumer does not provide the votes and the government shuts down, it will be a ‘Schumer Shutdown’ that lies solely on the shoulders of the Democrat Party," he asserted.
