On April 8, 2025, Rep. Van Orden expressed that it was an "honor to welcome members of the American Jewish Committee to Rep. Van Orden’s D.C. office today." These individuals had family members taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023. In this meeting, Rep. Van Orden emphasized that "Hamas must release all the hostages now and be held accountable for their actions."
In another tweet dated April 10, 2025, Rep. Van Orden's office discussed an important legislative initiative, stating that "Only American citizens should be voting in U.S. federal elections." It was mentioned that "over 80% of Americans agree, which is why the House will be passing the SAVE Act today to strengthen voter ID laws and ensure integrity in our elections" (source).

Rep. Derrick Van Orden has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Wisconsin's 3rd District since 2023, after succeeding Ron Kind. Born in Minnesota, Van Orden, age 53, currently resides in Prairie du Chien. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Excelsior University and a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
