Representative Karen Hurd, a Republican who was elected to the Wisconsin State House in 2025 representing the state's 69th House district, recently shared updates about her activities and legislative developments on her social media account.
On September 30, 2025, Hurd posted about a school group visiting the state capitol: "On Friday, a group from St. Anthony Catholic School in Loyal visited the State Capitol. Unfortunately, my schedule did not allow me to be there to greet them, but I look forward to visiting their classroom soon."
Later that same day, she highlighted her engagement with local constituents: "Over the weekend, I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at American Legion Post 73 in Neillsville. I also had some great conversations with constituents including Gayle Urban and David Boe."
On October 2, 2025, Hurd addressed an important policy change regarding energy taxes: "Starting today, Wisconsinites will no longer pay sales tax on electricity and natural gas used in their homes. In the budget approved by the Legislature in July, the sales tax exemption on residential natural gas and electricity was expanded to apply year-round."
Hurd succeeded Donna Rozar as representative of Wisconsin's 69th House district following her election in 2025.
