La Crosse police investigate shots fired incident involving teenager

On July 2, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., La Crosse police officers responded to a shots fired incident on the 600 Block of Pettibone Drive. The investigation revealed that a physical altercation led to an exchange of gunfire between individuals. There are no reports of injuries, and the incident appears to be isolated.

Antonio S. Shaw Jr., born on March 11, 2008, was identified as firing a weapon during the altercation. He was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree homicide, possession of a firearm by a felon, and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. "Safety is a top priority and there is zero-tolerance for violence in our community," stated City of La Crosse Police Chief Shawn Kudron. "Department members have been working diligently to investigate and hold those responsible for their actions during this incident."
